Mrs. Munter's Class Celebrates 100 Day!

The day was spent doing lots of fun activities that had to do with 100.

Below you will see just some of the fun things we did during the day.

The first activity of the day was 100 exercises.  Wow! Were we tired.

To catch our breath we sat down and were silent for 100 seconds.  Then, we found out how many times each of us could write our names in 100 seconds. Next we tried to color as many hearts on a page as we could in 100 seconds.  We found out that 100 seconds was a long time when we had to sit silently, but a REALLY short time when we wrote and colored.

Another fun activity was a cooperative effort.  We worked in teams to fill a grid from 1 to 100 with strips of tens.  When the grid was complete we could read each number from 1 to 100.

Our 100 snack was GREAT!  We each brought 100 edible pieces of snack and put them into Mrs. Munter's huge bowl.  We mixed them all up and everyone got a cup of goodies.

We spent a part of the afternoon rotating through several centers having to do with the number 100. In one center we stood 100 dominoes on end in a long row, in another we put the numbers from 1 to 100 in order on a clothesline, in another we put together cube trains of 100 cubes, and in another we blew 100 cottonballs the length of one of our tables.  Using a straw we blew one cottonball at a time until it fell over the edge into a bucket.  There were 100 cottonballs!

Right after lunch Mrs. Munter had another fun activity planned for us.

She hid 100 Hershey's kisses around our classroom.  Each kiss had a number from 1 to 100 on it.  When she said go, we had to search for the kisses.  When we found one, we looked at the number on the bottom and took it to the work table.  Mrs. Munter was at the table with a 100 grid.  We had to find the number that matched the kiss and put the kiss on the grid. Whew! It took us a while to find all 100 kisses, but we did it!  The 100th Day of Kindergarten is great fun!

The very last activity of the 100th day was probably the most fun AND the favorite.  We went to the gym with the other four kindergarten classes.  Our teachers asked each class to get in a circle. Mrs. Munter put 100 colorful balloons in the middle of our circle.  When she said go, we popped all 100 balloons!

Take a look at pictures of all this fun!!!
